Denture repairs in Cheadle — call before travelling.
A cracked denture, broken base or detached tooth may be repairable, but it needs to be inspected first. Call us before travelling so we can ask what happened, check availability and explain the safest next step.
Phone hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm. Weekend appointments are by prior arrangement.
What to do when a denture breaks
1. Stop and keep every piece
If the denture is sharp, unstable or painful, stop wearing it. Keep the denture, loose teeth and every broken piece together in a clean container.
2. Do not glue or reshape it
Household glue, repair kits, boiling water and filing can damage the material, change the fit and make a professional repair more difficult.
3. Call before travelling
Tell us when it broke, whether any part is missing and whether it now causes pain. We will tell you what to bring and whether we need to see it first.
What we will assess
Not every break needs the same solution. We inspect the denture and ask about its fit before recommending work.
Repair
This may be appropriate for a crack, fracture or detached tooth when the denture remains suitable to restore. The final decision depends on inspection.
Reline or adjustment
If the denture is intact but has become loose or rubs, changing its fitting surface may be more relevant than repairing it.
Replacement
A denture that is very worn, no longer fits, has missing sections or has broken repeatedly may need a replacement instead.
After a repair
- Follow the fitting and cleaning advice given when you collect the denture.
- Do not force the denture into place or try to adjust it yourself.
- Contact us if it feels sharp, rubs, will not seat correctly or breaks again.
- Arrange a dental assessment if the break followed an injury or you also have tooth, gum or jaw symptoms.
When to contact a dentist or seek urgent help
A denture repair does not treat toothache, swelling, bleeding, mouth injuries or problems with natural teeth or implants. Contact a dentist if you have these symptoms. For severe swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, a serious face or jaw injury, or difficulty breathing, follow the NHS advice for urgent dental care and seek emergency help where appropriate.
